Correcting a weak chin is a fairly popular request for plastic surgeons. Basically chin surgery is performed to balance your face e and correct a “weak” chin. Implants are used for chin augmentation in most patients who have normal teeth and jaw development. The implant is placed over the bone structure of the lower jaw and this can create a wider or longer and stronger chin.

Chin augmentation with implants is for you if you have a weak chin your jaw functions are normal. Silicon implants and biocompatible material implants are the most popular implants for chin augmentation. This is an invasive surgery but can be done with small incisions. Chin implants generally only take about 45 minutes to complete if done on their own and not combined with other surgeries. General or light sedation anesthesia is used for chin augmentation surgery.

Short-term side-effects of chin augmentation include change in chin sensation, numb chin, and feeling of tightness around the skin due to the implants.
