Injectable fillers are great to enhance your appearance because they can help fill shallow contours, plump up thin lips, soften the appearance of  wrinkles on the face and overall improve the appearance of scars and other facial defects.

Two popular injectable fillers are Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid based fillers. Collage based formulas are best used as fillers because Collagen is a natural protein that supports the skin. Hyaluronic Acid is also a natural substance found in our body. Both help fill out creases, plump up lips, and provide smoothening of skin winkles for several months at a time.

As with any cosmetic procedure, there are risks associated with fillers that you need to be aware of.

  • Non-human derived fillers should be tested for allergic reactions before use
  • You may get an infection at the site where the filler was injected.
  • Your skin may have breakouts or bleeding and swelling
  • You may have redness, sensitivity, redness of skin, and itching

Fillers are great for enhancing your appearance. However they may not be for everyone. Contact an experienced and trained cosmetic surgeon before making any decisions about using fillers.
